How much do sessions cost?
Each session will cost £30 with the exception of the first which is free and without obligation. I can offer reduced fee's to those who have proof of reduced income due to incapacity.
Accreditation with professional bodies
I am accredited with the Complementary Medical Association and The SFTR Therapists Register. This means that I adhere to their code of ethics and they have written proof of my qualifications in order to include me on their list of therapists. I also have to attend supervision with a specially trained counsellor to make sure I am maintaining professional standards and regularly update my knowledge by attending courses and then sending proof to my professional bodies.
I am also a qualified nurse and as such remain on the Nursing and Midwifery Counsels register.
How long will the course last?
Each course will vary depending on the needs of the individual and we will discuss this at our first session. On average a course will last between 6-8 weeks but we can evaluate this midway.
What can I expect at my first session?
The first session is really an opportunity for both of us to meet and decide whether you would benefit from the counselling I can offer.
It will take the form of an informal chat during which I might need to take some brief notes - these will be kept in total confidence but I have to maintain them as a legal document for 6 years in accordance with the CMA code of ethics.
You will not have to decide there and then if you would like to enter into a course of counselling but instead can contact me up to several days later.
